Major blaze at Linwood waste plant emergency response and closure of recycling centre

Plumes of smoke were seen rising over the facility, which serves as a vital hub for processing waste before it is sent for recycling or disposal. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) launched a large scale operation, dispatching six fire engines along with multiple specialist units to battle the flames. Crews worked through the early hours to contain the blaze, which was located within the main transfer station. Firefighters have now successfully contained the incident but remain on site as a precaution to damp down the area and monitor for any potential resignation. Marvel extends Glasgow shoot for new Spider Man movie

Filming began in Glasgow on 1 August and was originally expected to continue until 15 August. However, Vision Capture 247 can exclusively reveal that Marvel has secured permission from Glasgow City Council to extend the shoot. Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will now continue until 26 August, 11 days longer than was previously anticipated. We understands that filming will continue in the Merchant City area of the city until 18 August, before halting for a few days and then picking up again from 21 August until 26 August. Road restrictions indicate that production will move to Hutchison Street from 16 August to 18 August, before taking over Cochrane Street, John Street, South Frederick Street and Montrose Street from 21 August to 26 August. Pipe replacement completed following major water main burst in Paisley

The incident that caused chaos in Paisley, PA2 area over the past few days has now been resolved. Following a significant burst on a strategic 30” water main on Neilston Road, Scottish Water teams have completed the complex repair work, which involved replacing a damaged section of the pipe. The burst, which occurred near the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAI), led to severe flooding, traffic disruption, and water supply issues for residents and businesses in surrounding areas, including Neilston Road, Brediland Road and Corsebar Road. Some homes, particularly in Stockholm Crescent, were also affected by minor flooding.
