Marvel extends Glasgow shoot for new Spider Man movie

Filming began in Glasgow on 1 August and was originally expected to continue until 15 August. 

However, Vision Capture 247 can exclusively reveal that Marvel has secured permission from Glasgow City Council to extend the shoot.

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will now continue until 26 August, 11 days longer than was previously anticipated. 


We understands that filming will continue in the Merchant City area of the city until 18 August, before halting for a few days and then picking up again from 21 August until 26 August. 


Road restrictions indicate that production will move to Hutchison Street from 16 August to 18 August, before taking over Cochrane Street, John Street, South Frederick Street and Montrose Street from 21 August to 26 August. 


Glasgow City Council has now revised its list of traffic restrictions in place in the city centre to accommodate the shoot being extended:


Prohibition of vehicle movements
09:00hrs on the 22 August 2025 to 23:59hrs on the 26 August 2025

  • Cochrane Street for its full length
  • John Street between Ingram Street and Cochrane Street
  • South Frederick Street, southbound only, for its full length
